Kicking Horse, British Columbia
If you want to accomplish something in life, it is often a good idea to first write down your specific objectives and your plans. It helps to clarify things. We have done that before, for example, in organizing our year-long drive of the entire Pan-American Highway from Alaska to Argentina back in 2004 and it worked. And quite well! So here goes!
Jeanne and I currently live in the beautiful, fast growing city of Toronto. We also have a unique, ocean-view, second home (a Treehouse!) down in Costa Rica. We both love the outdoors and are fortunate to be healthy and motivated. We are avid skiers, annually enjoying skiing Kicking Horse, Lake Louise and Sunshine. Although we enjoy Toronto, we are contemplating a move to Western Canada in 2017 or 2018 – perhaps, first choice, to Canmore or to Banff in the Bow Valley area of Alberta or perhaps to Whistler or Pemberton in British Columbia.
While out West, we would lease out our quiet mid-town Toronto condo, ground floor, with outdoor patio. It has direct private garden and tennis court access through our patio gate and is just a few steps from the Summerhill subway station on Yonge Street. Out west, we would consider renting a 2 bedroom house or apartment in Alberta or British Columbia for 6 or 12 months, in order to get to know the area before finalizing any longer term decision on where we might eventually settle.
Fishing on the Pitt River, in BC Pitt River Lodge
In September 2016, we visited BC for a most enjoyable and interesting couple of weeks – family in Squamish, Vancouver and friends in Whistler and Pemberton. One of the several highlights was going fly fishing with my son. We stayed at the Pitt River Lodge. Water and air access only. Fishing was absolutely great !
My partner, Jeanne, together with our excellent local Costa Rica local property management team, handles our Treehouse guest rental business.
We may be soon be heading west for a week or two of Spring skiing at Kicking Horse and Lake Louise.
I have very recently initiated a change career-wise by launching into something quite new to me – the energy marketplace. My background has been primarily Information Technology, sales and account management. I certainly welcome new opportunities and learning new things, especially any where I am dealing with people and helping clients improve their businesses.
